Our Story:
I drove from Vancouver, WA, to Wilsonville, OR, to meet my Ayla Simone. I arrived at her house and met her mom and dad who were playing in a mud puddle; they were filthy dirty and had smiles from ear to ear. She was the “runt” of the litter and the only black female. I fell in love at first sight. She looked at me with her beautiful brown honey eyes and I was toast. I wrote the check and headed to Petco. I trained her, played with her, took her on walks and to the Vet for all her appointments. She got the best dog food and an endless supply of rawhides and toys. We sleep together and play tag. We’re pals for all eternity.
When she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer 2 years ago I thought my heart would break. The tumor they removed weighed 9 lbs and the prognosis was bleak. She and I had a chat and she decided to stick around for more fun. She saw her vet 6 months ago who did x-rays and found no sign, not a spot of the killer cancer. Her vet is stumped. I am thrilled. She is my miracle girl. She is my best friend and I love her beyond verbal description.
