Some pet parents hear a lot of opinions about keeping a massive pup in the house with a toddler. Katie Falcione recently shared a video that effectively silences every single one of those skeptics. It features a big dog named Archie who weighs a staggering 137 pounds. Despite his massive size, he is an incredibly gentle protector for a baby named Sophie. You can see @ktfalcione capturing their daily life in a room filled with toys. Archie is clearly the best babysitter on the block.
Big dog is extremely gentle around baby, leaving no room for fear in sweet video
The footage starts in a room where the TV is on in the background, and toys are strewn across the floor. And Sophie is in the middle of it, busily adjusting an accessory on Archie’s head. He sits perfectly still while his small human works on her fashion masterpiece. She eventually steps aside to reveal the accessory: a white-and-green headband. He looks absolutely hilarious with those bunny ears on his massive skull.
Archie is a mix of a Cane Corso and a black Labrador, and that means he probably combines a serious guarding instinct with a very patient personality. It results in a pup that stays calm during play sessions. Archie eventually decides to lie down on the floor to get on Sophie’s level. She is currently busy playing with some colorful toys right in front of his nose. He just stays there, quietly supervising, while she organizes her toys.
At one point, he accidentally nudges a toy with a heavy paw and knocks it over. Sophie puts it back immediately, and he just settles back down. Hundreds of people have already liked the clip because of his incredible patience. Truthfully, he seems happy just to coexist in her space.
People often ask if there is any fear involved in having such a powerful animal around small kids. But this video of the big dog being so gentle with the baby proves there is zero cause for concern. “Archie. Our 137lb gentle giant,” Katie shared in the caption. One viewer mentioned he is such a good boy, and we just have to agree.
