A Central Arkansas woman has gone viral on TikTok after posting a video in which she surprises her childhood dog, The Tribune reports. Since she posted the footage on Feb. 20, the video has amassed over 600,000 views and hundreds of comments.

In the video, 24-year-old photographer Rebecca Fellers is filming the front of her parents’ house when her childhood dog, Sissy, sees her and runs out of some bushes with her tail wagging as Rebecca is heard laughing.

From Puppy To Senior Dog at Childhood Home

“When you come home to visit and you surprise your childhood dog,” says the text on the video about the meeting between Rebecca and her Pomeranian at her childhood home. The caption reads: “Always and forever my girl. Got her as a puppy and now she’s 14 and thriving.”

“When we first got Sissy, I can remember telling everyone about her,” she told Newsweek. “She has always been such a happy dog. She loves everyone! I even had a childhood friend I haven’t seen in a while asking me about her recently.”

Understandably spoilt in her twilight years, Rebecca also revealed that she is “living her best life. She even gets a scrambled eggs every morning!”

Making the Most of Their Time Together

“When she passes,” Rebecca said, “I will be devastated. We got her back in 2009 as a puppy. She turned 14 this January. When you have a pet for almost half your life, it’s hard to imagine life without them. I don’t even want to think about coming home to my dad’s and not seeing or hearing her when I come through the front door. I try to visit as much as possible.”

Pomeranians have a typical lifespan of between 12 and 16 years, so Sissy is firmly in the category of senior dog. And her video inspired a number of commenters to discuss their own senior pets, as well as pets who are no longer here.

Ours just died yesterday…I already miss her running up to the door to greet me when I come to visit” said one viewer. Another said, “This made me miss my childhood dog so much”, with Rebecca replying, “I’m not looking forward to missing mine
