Zsa Zsa, The Ugliest Dog, Dies At Age Nine

Last month’s winner of the World’s Ugliest Dog contest died earlier this month.

Although her first five years of life were spent in a puppy mill, Zsa Zsa was later put up for auction to be purchased by a rescue group. From there on out, it appears as though Zsa Zsa lead a pretty admirable life. Much of her time was spent lazing around, snacking on Slim Jim’s and steak burritos. What a life!

What Matters Is On the Inside

When her family made the thirty-hour drive from Minnesota to California for her to compete in the World’s Ugliest Dog competition, few were hard pressed to say she didn’t belong there. Her under-bite and crooked teeth were cause enough to win the award. From there on out, it was a life of luxury for the bulldog. Brainard often said it felt like traveling with a celebrity. People would recognize Zsa Zsa everywhere they went.

Zsa Zsa the English Bulldog was nine years old, and although her owner, Megan Brainard, who announced Zsa Zsa’s death, stated that she had not been in poor health. She died in her sleep, as confirmed by Brainard over social media.

The average life expectancy of the English Bulldog is about ten years.
