Shelter dog proves he can trust humans if they show some patience
A video on Instagram captured a shelter dog named Patrick, who has been at the shelter for more than two years. The dog needs someone to be patient with him so that he can learn to trust again. And once he starts trusting the human, he will be the most loyal, super playful, and friendly dog.
The video has captured the attention of many dog lovers online. The caption of the post read, “Patrick has been waiting 2.5 years for someone willing to really get to know him. He’s only 3.5 years old.”
In the meantime, the post’s caption further disclosed, “He is reactive to other dogs and reactive to new people, so Patrick isn’t the kind of dog you meet once and immediately take home. He needs time, patience and multiple meetings to build trust.”
It then revealed, “But once you’re in, you get to know the Patrick we know. He’s incredibly smart, food motivated, loves training, toys and swimming, and he’s still working hard in training to become the best version of himself.”
The video began by giving a closer look at Patrick, the shelter dog. As the clip went on, viewers could see that Patrick needed a little bit more time to trust a human. He needed a little extra patience and care.
However, once he trusted someone, he loved them with all his heart. The dog was super playful, loved the beach, and also showered the shelter workers with affectionate kisses. The fur baby truly deserves someone who will give him time and the care he needs. The dog has been waiting at Maui Humane Society for someone to give him a forever happy home.
