For one Golden Retriever puppy, her first day with her new family came with an unexpected little adventure courtesy of her human brother.

Ellie, a 13-week-old Golden Retriever, appears to have already found a special companion in her new family. A video shared by @ellies_golden_days shows the puppy enjoying a ride in a small buggy with her young human brother shortly after the puppy arrived at her new home.

In the clip, the toddler takes the wheel and carefully drives Ellie around outdoors. The puppy sits inside the buggy as her brother appears determined to show her around, giving her a chance to take in her new surroundings from the comfort of her little ride.

The video includes text that reads, “POV: it’s your first day home, but your brothers are farm boys.” And judging by the way the young boy handles the buggy, he seems to be taking his role as Ellie’s tour guide seriously.

At one point, the toddler reverses the buggy but makes sure to check on Ellie before continuing. His backward glance shows he is paying attention to his passenger and wants to make sure she is safe.

The caption of the post, “Jumped right into a chaotic new life,” suggests that Ellie has plenty happening around her from the moment she arrived. With a young family, outdoor adventures, and what seems to be a busy household, her new home may be anything but quiet.

Before bringing a puppy home, it is worth preparing for more than just the excitement of having a new pet. Puppies need a safe space to rest, nutritious food, and regular veterinary care. They also need time to adjust without being overwhelmed by too many new experiences at once.
