Rescue Dog Makes His Feelings About One Thing Very Clear to Human & It’s Not What They Expected

A serious heart-to-heart is unfolding on the couch, but rescue dog Donatello Espresso clearly has his mind somewhere else. The sweet Pit Bull sits behind his human, Fabian, while he launches into a thoughtful conversation about love, dreams, and what people really want.

Donatello listens for a little while, although his sleepy eyes suggest the discussion is not exactly keeping him engaged. In the video shared on @donatelloespresso, the furry companion looks away, closes his eyes, and eventually slides down into the couch until he is barely visible.

In the video, Donatello starts out looking like he might actually stick around for Fabian’s little couch conversation. Fabian keeps talking about love and how people can have an idea of what they want without really knowing what they are looking for. Meanwhile, Donatello is sitting behind him, taking it all in. Well, “taking it all in” might be generous.

The Pit Bull looks sleepy almost from the start. He glances away, closes his eyes and generally gives off the energy of someone who has heard enough for one afternoon. Still, he stays put while Fabian keeps going, which is probably the nicest way a dog can pretend to be interested.

As Fabian finishes his thought, Donatello makes his position much clearer. He slowly sinks into the couch until he disappears from view, seemingly making a deliberate choice to remove himself from the conversation. Fabian spots what happened and responds with a simple, “Right.” There was not much else to say, honestly.

The clip has picked up more than 2,100 likes, and the comments are having just as much fun with Donatello’s reaction. One viewer joked, “When you’re done talking let him know,” while another imagined the dog thinking, “I don’t get paid enough for this.” Someone else pointed out that even therapists know when it is time to end a session.

And that may be the funniest part of this whole exchange. The human wanted to discuss the meaning of love, and the rescue dog wanted a quiet place to close his eyes. Both made their priorities pretty clear.
