Dog Sees Grandma & Runs Straight to Her Like It’s the Best Day of Her Life

If you think grandparents spoil their grandchildren, just wait until you see how they treat the family dog. Extra treats, endless attention, and plenty of affection make pets feel like honorary members of the next generation. And as any dog parent will tell you, those feelings are usually returned with enthusiasm. One Australian Shepherd recently showed exactly that when she spotted her grandma from across a parking lot and immediately made a beeline for her.

Dog can’t contain her excitement after seeing grandma, immediately runs to her

The clip, posted by @aussie.sedona, opens in a parking lot where Sedona the Aussie is standing with her owner. Before the action begins, text on the screen explains the family dynamic, reading, “Lucky to have a mom that treats my dog like her first grandchild.”

Moments later, Sedona’s owner points toward a woman standing in the distance and asks the dog who she is looking at. The Australian Shepherd immediately focuses her attention on the figure ahead. As soon as the dog recognizes her grandma, she takes off running without a second thought.

Once she reaches her, Sedona greets her grandma with playful energy, appearing unable to contain her happiness. Her body language says it all as she eagerly closes the distance and rushes over to say hello. The owner later wrote in the caption that “she loves her grandma.” Judging by the dog’s response, viewers had little trouble believing it.

Many people in the comments section were charmed by the interaction and related it to their own experiences with family pets. One viewer jokingly took issue with the wording in the video, writing, “What do you mean ‘like’ my first grandchild???? She IS my FIRST GRANDCHILD!!!!” Others gave insight into the dynamics within their own households. “Mine are the same way, absolutely love their grandma,” one user commented.
