There is no greater happiness for shelter pups than adoption. These innocent creatures long for a home every day and can’t control their joy when their wish is finally fulfilled. A recent social media post has perfectly captured this instance. The video focuses on a shelter dog who runs towards freedom after being adopted. The user @sharing.lov, a volunteer at the shelter, took to their Instagram to share this heart-touching story of a canine named Diamond.
Shelter dog has no idea this is her last walk as she runs towards freedom after adoption
In the video mentioned above, the shelter dog runs towards her freedom after being adopted. The uploader wrote in the caption, “IT’S DIAMOND’S FREEDOM RIDE!!” Diamond first arrived at the shelter as a puppy with her mother and sister. They were surrendered by the family after they became homeless and could no longer provide for them. However, the trio was adopted into separate homes.
Diamond’s happiness was short-lived as she was returned to the shelter two months later. Her family couldn’t afford to take her while shifting to their home country. As such, the pup’s wait for a new family began again.
She became a favorite among volunteers and the staff, with everyone failing to understand why she was overlooked. Soon, Diamond’s story was shared, and eventually a woman named Lynda came to meet her. She fell in love with the dog and decided to adopt her the same day. The canine is taken for a walk, unaware that she was running towards her freedom and happy home.
Lynda keeps sending updates of the pup to the uploader, and Diamond is eventually named Kai as she adjusts to her new, beautiful life. The caption also mentioned that Kai “has a loving family, three dog siblings to run and play with, and a backyard where she can finally be a carefree puppy.”
Lynda also told the volunteer, “I don’t understand how no one wanted her. She is literally the easiest dog in the world.” Moreover, the volunteer shared, “Freedom looks so good on you, Kai [new name],” and expressed gratitude to Lynda for giving the canine a new life.
