In a sweet Instagram video from @hale_yea_hobbies, a rescue dog named Olive stays glued to her mom while she stitches the dog’s beloved frog toy, Sir Froggy, back together. And according to the on-screen captions, this is far from a one-time emergency. The video begins with, “Olive with another late night repair request,” followed by the note, “No, I did not teach her this.” And as the mom repairs the toy, the dog stays by her side the whole time.

In the video, the rescue dog’s mom tells us that Sir Froggy, the toy, “was found in need of repair.” Olive, apparently, was not about to let the case out of her sight. Her mom jokes that all repairs are done “together,” with “very strict supervision involved.” Olive stays close throughout the procedure and watches every stitch, most likely because she is deeply invested in the outcome and seeks reassurance along the way. A little later, the dog shuffles, which the mom says is because she “Disagrees about stitch choice.”
Many dogs tend to form strong attachments to specific objects, especially soft ones they carry around and sleep beside. So a toy can become familiar in the same way a blanket does for a little kid. Hence, when it tears open, hovering nearby during repairs may be Olive’s version of making sure her mom is handling everything properly.
And Olive does not leave the job incomplete. An on-screen caption notes that she “Refuses to leave stuffy’s side even for snooze.” And once the stitching is complete, the video announces, “Immediate in-house quality control testing,” as Olive starts playing with Sir Froggy.
In the video’s caption, the rescue dog’s mom wrote, “Olive is back at it,” once the toy is all fixed. She added, “Sir froggy frog was in for repair this weekend while I was wrapping up some table runners. Obviously immediate medical attention was required and provided.”
