You would think coming home to a total lack of enthusiasm is usually something only cat parents deal with. But Nash is doing things his own way lately. Alicia Kang runs the account @yourbudnash, where she shares their daily life in the PNW. Her recent video shows a very out-of-character side of her pup. Usually, this Golden Retriever greets his owner with a pile of toys and a lot of energy. Not this time. Nash has decided that staying on the couch is his only priority for the afternoon. Can’t blame him; he sure looks very comfortable.

The clip starts with Alicia walking into her home and to the living room to find Nash sprawled out on the couch. He is surrounded by his favorite toys, but he doesn’t move a muscle to pick one up. She says “Hi” and walks closer with her phone. Nash just looks at her. There is no tail wagging at all. And he definitely isn’t jumping up to say hello.
She gets a low angle of his face and asks what he is doing. He just wiggles his nose. And then he smacks his lips and lets out a huge yawn. Alicia gives him some pets and asks her audience if he is broken. She tells him to get up, and yet he stays right where he is. He doesn’t move an inch.
Then the text on the screen asks the audience again, “or just lazy?” A little smile finally shows up when she zooms in on his face. At least he is happy to see her. But today he isn’t going to show it with his body. The camera pans down to his tail. Maybe Alicia is looking for any kind of movement, but the tail is completely still.
It is pretty funny because this Golden Retriever usually greets his owner by bringing her a gift. He has an active life with lots of hikes and travel, so this bout of laziness can be overlooked. Over a hundred people have liked the post already. They seem to appreciate a dog that knows how to take a day off.
