What do you do when guests arrive if not ask for attention? Well, at least a dog named Chip treats a room full of guests like a list of appointments he must keep, and this Instagram video from @chipblacklab is proof of it.
The video shows the black Labrador moving from person to person during a get-together, stopping at each guest long enough to collect head scratches, face rubs, and at least one full hug. Accordingly, the on-screen text explains, “my dog makes his rounds and demands attention from each one of our guests.”

The video shows guests sitting in a living room, with the dog taking turns to greet each one of them. Chip stands before one guest first, tipping his head up for pets, and once he gets a good round of scratches, he heads to the next person.
The second guest happily cups Chip’s face and gives him a thorough cheek rub. The next moment, the Labrador makes his way across the space to greet the third guest, who wraps him up in a hug as he leans in like he has known her forever.
The caption jokes that visitors should know what they are signing up for. As such, it says, “You must be a dog person to come to our house cuz Chip is gonna make his rounds,” adding, “ugh i love him.”
In the comments, people compared him to a “polite host” who greets every guest properly. Others called the attention “the pet tax,” with one viewer joking, “my lab is also a tax collector by trade.” Another user gushed, “As the guy at the party who always looks for the dog, I wouldn’t let him leave, I would be petting him until my arms fall off.”
The video shows that this dog does more than just greet guests. He collects taxes that people around him are happy to pay.
