Dog & Cat Look Guilty, but Owner Can’t Find the ‘Crime Scene’

Walk into a room, and you just know when something has gone wrong. There is that weird, heavy silence where nobody is moving. It’s a total pet parent intuition thing. Braxton is a Blue Merle Chow Chow living in Canada. He is usually a pretty stoic guy. But in a recent video from @braxtonthechow, the dog and his cat roommate are definitely hiding something. They are just sitting on the stairs. Not doing anything. Just staring. And it is extremely suspicious. The dog is looking away. And the cat is trying to act natural. But it isn’t working at all. The verdict is in: They look guilty.

Dog and cat look like they have done something they weren’t supposed to

Braxton is sitting on one step, and the cat is on another. They both look like they are trying to stay calm. But the black cat is swishing his tail against the baseboard. And then Braxton actually rolls his eyes. This breed is known for being a bit independent and aloof. So that subtle eye roll is completely on brand for him.

And then the camera pans over to the living room. Everything looks perfect. Not a single pillow is out of place. There is another cat on the couch who looks completely innocent. But then, as we see in the video, the camera goes back to the cat and dog on the stairs. Braxton is making intense eye contact now. Both of them want their human to believe them. But the owner is not buying it. “You can hear the silence from here.. they all have their own guilty faces lol,” the caption says.

Someone in the comments joked that this dog was probably just a witness to whatever happened. Over 2,300 people have already liked the video. They’re not fooling anyone, and yet look adorable doing it.

Everyone knows that specific “I did something” look. They might have hidden the evidence really well this time. Or maybe the crime hasn’t even been discovered yet. Either way, they aren’t talking. They are probably just going to keep sitting there until everyone forgets about it. It’s a solid strategy.
