One dog is going viral for doing just that, and his grumpy attitude about having clean paws has the internet in stitches.

An Instagram video shared by user @fineboymiki gives viewers a glimpse into the less-than-glamorous part of pet parenting: paw cleaning. Miki might come across as a happy, friendly dog online, but according to his owner, there’s another side to him. “He’s the most sweet loving boy ever,” she explains in the clip, but “he’s actually quite a little grumpy guy.” She adds that this is especially evident when it comes to getting his feet wiped after a walk.
The video shows exactly what she means. As she gently lifts Miki’s front paw and starts to clean it, he immediately begins to growl and grumble, clearly not a fan of the process. His eyes squint, his ears flatten, and his whole demeanor shifts into full-on protest mode. Interestingly, when she moves on to his back legs, Miki doesn’t seem nearly as bothered. “It’s basically the front legs that are the issue,” she explains, noting that he only throws a fuss for half the process.
After all four paws are clean, the owner tells him “all done!” and removes his harness. That’s when his entire mood changes again. Miki perks up and jumps up happily when he hears the word “treat.”
