Treating distemper

my dog is a mixed breed. Due to distemper he had paralysis on the rear portion. He is eating and doing daily activities of passing stools and urine. He is ill for last two months and being treated under the supervision of a veterinary doctor.Pets clinics are very expensive. Suggest what else I can do to make him normal
