Dog owners are peeved at Petco
When my 18 y.o. daughter came home and said Petco had "promoted" her to "groomer", no one was more surprised than me. She had just graduated high school, took a part time job as a cashier at Petco, and never even had a dog, much less any experience grooming a dog. Every day she'd come home exasperated about what she was expected to do. She figured out how to brush and wash a dog, but once they demanded she buy her ... (continued)

Top 10 dog care essentials
I disagree with one thing. Do not ask your vet about what to feed your dog. They are not trained on nutrition. Learn how to read a dog food panel. Compare ingredients. Your local pet supply store should be able to help with this better than your vet. Beware of online oppinions. Remember dog food companies will all tell you that their food is the best. Beniful is a perfect example. The comercials tell you i... (continued)

Neighbors dogs are constantly getting loose.
Our neighbors have 2 moderately good sized dogs, who constantly climb over, or dig under their fence and get out. This happens a minimum of once a day. The fence that they keep escaping from is a mere 4 foot tall chain link fence; perfect for a small dog, but not for a big one. Our neighbors know their dogs can escape, and they are always running around the neighborhood in the attempt to round them up and bring th... (continued)

Dear Labby, petiquette expert
I have an older, 13 year old lab/hound mix. He has always been eating twice a day, the problem he is having is that often in the middle of the night he poops in his bed and eats it. He is suffering from degenerative mylopothy, so I think part of the issue is his loss of feeling in the back end. I have been trying to tinker with his food schedule so as to help him get through the night without having to move his bo... (continued)

Tension between roommates due to dogs
My roommates and I have recently moved into our apartment. I have a dog that is 55 pounds, 6 months old while my roommate has a 6 month old dog that is 3 pounds and the size of my dogs head. My puppy is playful yet gentle with her puppy and never shows agression towards it. However, she thinks their "nippiness" is too violent and is always worried her dog is going to get hurt. A few times her puppy yelped but that... (continued)

Dear Labby: Big dog/small dog etiquette
My neighbour never walked her little yapper, which then kept getting out of her yard and causing trouble and other neighbours threatened to have Leah taken to the pound. Because I'm an avid hiker I have since then been taking Leah for weekly day-long walks on the mountain.
Incredible, but after an entire day of hard uphill rock scrambling, she still rushes backwards and forwards and jumps up and down and chases ... (continued)

Is owner responsible when his dog barks?
It is crazy how some people act. If its their dog then they should take the time to responsibly train the dog. They should not expect the world to revolve around them. It is owners like this that make certain breeds look bad. Crazy how some people act.

Is owner responsible when his dog barks?
I would just make sure my dogs don't linger. I would also drop one of Patricia mcconnell's training pamphlets in his mailbox, for the sake of the German shepherd. It'll just be about $5. Personally I would also let other people in the neighborhood know about the incident, especially if you fear this guy might become more aggressive, and fund out if anyone considers the shepherd a nuisance barker so that THAT can...
