I just adopted a new pup, I needed a way to track his pee/poop routines. I also needed to keep track of his shots/tick medications and also I needed a feeding timer. Finally I found something which works and wanted to share it with everyone here. Its called Pet Minder and its for android. Here is a link Since you have a new pet I thought I would share a really cool app I found on android. Its called Pet Minder, ... (continued)

Chow Chow Australian Shepherd Mix

Tomorrow, me and my family have decided to go check out a dog, and see if he suits our family. I have been interested in him, and a few other dogs for a while, and sadly most of those dogs have been singled out. (To big, a Pit Bull, etc. I wanted the Pit, my my was against it tho) The dog we are considering is a male Chow Chow Australian Shepherd Mix. (CCASM) He is good with kids, dogs and most likely good wit... (continued)

The great cat declawing debate

do unto others as you would have them do unto you. can you imagine having this done to yourself? I clip my cat's claws every 2 weeks, and I have no problems. I know that not all cats are the same, not all situations are the same, but please, it should definitely NOT the first choice!

What to do with the friendly stray cat

There's a stay cat, maybe a year to 18 months old, who hangs around the alley. He (she?) has a tipped ear, so he's been fixed. He's a friendly little cat who waits for me in the morning (and is often around when I get home) to feed him. He lets me pet him while he eats and rubs up against me, purring up a storm. I've tried to lure him into my fenced in backyard, but he does want to go in and does not like being ... (continued)

When it's not love at first sight

When my sister-in-law first got her rescue dog, I tried to play with her and probably was a little bit to aggressive and tried to bite me. I was naive to the fact that not all dogs are loving and loyal from the start. After that incident I didn't really want to interact with her that much. However... as time passed and we got use to seeing each other, she has definitely warmed up to me and me to her.

Northwest Animal Rescue Alliance in Oregon--BUYER BEWARE

I am writing to let you know that an organization here in Oregon which lists its pets online has not acted responsibly. I adopted a dog from the Northwest Animal Rescue Alliance of Salem this spring. It was soon apparent that the pup had parvo, and I spent thousands (no typo) keeping him alive. He is OK now, but during his illness, the two contact women for the group assured me that the group would refund my ... (continued)

Man walks into a rescue... and walks out a Dogfather

My father was the same way over the years he had a variety of animals, including a feral rabbit he would put out left over vegetables for and pot bellied pig that ate his kitchen flooring. All of the animals in his life were gone within 6 months of arriving. Most went to great homes others were feral in nature and simply returned to their wild state and stopped coming around. But my husband and I came across a d... (continued)

switching teams

I worked at a vet clinic for sometime. We sold the veterinary level foods from several different brands. The kinds pets need when they have extreme food allergies or diabetic or renal care. This food is on the higher end of pet food price range. About twice as much as grocery grade foods. But still we regularly have people come in buying the best for their furry babies. One time, a man came in to pick up the ... (continued)
