Smart dog?
QUESTION: How would you define a "smart dog"? answered by Jean Donaldson ANSWER: I come from a training background, so I personally think that the rate at which a dog learns is directly related to how smart he is: If he learns fast, he's a pretty smart pup. But many people (who are not "all about the training") feel problem-solving ability is a better barometer of brains. Jean Donaldson is the founder of San Francisco SPCA's Dog Training Academy and author of numerous books, including Culture Clash. Read more about Jean Donaldson in the DogTime expert center... |
