Who we are

Livia shares the secret to a successful ad

Looking to find your wag or discover your purr? You’ve come to the right place: we’re crazy about companion animals. So crazy, we created two content-rich sites, DogTime.com and CatTime.com, with over 120,000 pages of content between them.

With headquarters in San Francisco, our collective experience includes years of raising dogs and cats, writing about them and rescuing them, training them, falling in love with them, and having our hearts broken by them. So it’s no surprise our sites have become the number one spot for humans searching for information about pets.

Jonathan thrives under pressure.

As our websites have grown, a devoted network of animal lovers has sprung up around them. Our community includes over 565 pet bloggers and 525 pet publishers, which gives DogTime Media a reach of over 46 million monthly UVs. So it makes sense that we work with the largest advertisers in the pet industry. They want to reach passionate pet people and we’ve got ’em!

And if it’s behavior, training, or adoption guidance you need, help is here. We’re home to the premier companion animal Expert Center on the web. Our renown panel of expert trainers, behaviorists, and veterinarians includes such luminaries as Ian Dunbar, Sophia Yin, Nancy Kay, Jean Donaldson, Jon Katz, and Tamar Geller. Spike will be fetching the newspaper before you know it!

The steady success and growth of DogTime Media has allowed us to expand our mission even further. In addition to providing dog and cat owners all the information they need to live happily and healthily with their pets, we are also giving back to the community by supporting shelter animals and promoting animal welfare. We work with over 3000 rescue organizations and have created several programs to help carry out this mission.

  • The DogTime Technology Program is awarded quarterly to 3 shelters in need of basic technology. This grant helps them to set up email systems, list available animals online, and more.
  • The DogTime Annual Grant Program is awarded on a yearly basis to a shelter needing assistance with general operating costs.
  • DogTime’s Annual Petties Blog Awards celebrates the best bloggers in the companion animal blog space. Winning bloggers select their favorite shelters to receive a donation from DogTime Media.
  • The Coalition for Adoption of Shelter Animals (CASA) includes all members of our community who working to increase adoptions of homeless dogs and cats across the country. Together, we can break down the barriers in the online adoption process and maximize the exposure for animals in need.

The humans of DogTime/CatTime

And we didn’t stop there! We developed our own Facebook applications to help the more than 70,000 dogs and cats waiting for adoption. Save a Dog and Save a Cat have become so popular; they are recognized as the #1 and #2 Facebook apps in the Friends and Family category.

Finally, we feature a one-of-a-kind Adoptable Dog and Adoptable Cat finder tool that helps people locate adoptable animals in their area. It sits on over 400 sites in our DogTime Media network and can show you more adoptable dogs and cats in one minute than the average human blinks their eyes.

That’s our story and we couldn’t be more proud or excited. What started with the idea of 2 informational websites turned into something infinitely larger: A supportive, interactive pet-loving community and a network dedicated to making better lives for companion animals.
