Cactus the rescue dog’s Instagram account shared the sweet video of him visiting the park. The clip has racked up over half a million views on the platform. The text over the video noted, “Taking rescue puppy back to the dog park after a bad experience.” Cactus’s dad, Mike Brown, also shared that the pup was ‘cornered by every single dog’ the first time they visited. They continued, “I decided not to take him back after that,” and added, “…but we’re back today.”
Brown shared in the caption that they decided to take Cactus back “since he’s older and bigger now.” The pup’s dad added, “He loves to play with other dogs so I figured at least worth a shot!” The video showed Brown asking Cactus if he was ready to go inside the park. While leading Cactus through the gate, his dad assured him, ‘It’s okay.’ Brown continued to check on Cactus after he stepped inside but stood in place to observe his surroundings. The rescue dog began exploring the park but was “still spooked out.”
Shortly after, Cactus started to join in with the others in the dog park. Brown said, “There he goes. He’s starting to play.” Cactus continued to explore more and got acquainted with more pups. Brown shared, “Overall, he’s definitely having fun. More fun than last time. It did take him a minute to warm up.” They added, “He’s made some friends. He’s doing a good job!” Brown also turned the camera around and showed Cactus running freely in the park.
