We’ve all seen the “this is fine” meme where a cartoon dog calmly sips coffee as everything around him burns down. Now imagine that moment unfolding in real life, only this time it’s a real dog quietly watching a chipmunk help itself to his food in broad daylight. That dog is Django, and he might be the most unbothered canine on the internet right now.
Dog does nothing as squirrel gobbles up peanuts in plain sight in video
Django, a calm and composed pup, was enjoying a peaceful moment outdoors when his snack break took a turn. A chipmunk (named Stump by Django’s owner) casually appeared and began helping himself to Django’s pile of peanuts. The dog, however, doesn’t seem to mind at all. Despite his owner repeatedly pointing out the theft, saying things like, “Django, you can’t let that happen,” the pup remained stone-faced. As such, he shows no signs of resistance or concern.
The camera then pans back and forth between the unbothered dog and the determined chipmunk, who chomps away without hesitation. Perhaps a regular in the area, Stump doesn’t rush or hide. He eats comfortably, as if the food were meant for him. Meanwhile, Django barely reacts, possibly signaling that he has accepted this unexpected guest as part of the routine.
The internet had no shortage of theories about Django’s laid-back attitude. One person imagined him calmly rationalizing, “He is my friend. He can have as much as he likes.” Another user weighed in with a more strategic take: “He’s like, Mom, he might be little, but have you seen the razor sharp teeth on him?”
There were comparisons too. “My Rottweiler shepherd would watch the field mice in my house like bro get him,” wrote one commenter, clearly familiar with this brand of canine diplomacy. And finally, someone suspected Django was simply thinking long-term: “He’s not worried because he knows he’s going to try new foods in the following days that aren’t peanuts.” Maybe Django just knows good things come to those who wait.
