Dog & Toddler Stand Next to the Fuse Box, Then Realize Neither Knows What Comes Next

When a house with a toddler and a dog gets suspiciously quiet, it’s probably worth checking what they’re up to. In this case, the answer is an open fuse box, a very curious German Shepherd, and a toddler who seems just as unsure about what they have discovered. The video shared by @alch.irkova catches the two standing side by side, staring at the switches before slowly looking at each other for some backup. Neither appears particularly confident about the situation. The caption says it best: “Two brains. Zero good ideas.”

Dog and toddler look hilariously confused after opening the fuse box

Mom is filming from the couch when she notices the pair hanging around the corner of the living room. Then the toddler reaches up and swings the fuse box door open. It bangs against the wall, which gets the German Shepherd’s attention immediately. The little boy can barely reach the box, while the dog sits beside him, looking at the row of switches with a very serious expression.

The text on screen reads, “When your little teammate starts making dangerous decisions,” and for a moment, it really does look like the toddler has recruited the dog for some kind of household project. Except neither of them seems to know what to do next.

The toddler keeps looking at the switches. The dog looks at him. Then the toddler turns toward the dog, almost in consultation. One viewer summed up the dog’s apparent thoughts perfectly: “Hey man, are you sure about this?” Another joked, “The dog like u touch it first.” Honestly, the German Shepherd does look like he has decided that someone else should definitely go first.

The toddler even makes a little sing-songy sound at his dog. The video has already passed 192,000 likes, so clearly plenty of people found this tiny standoff as funny as everyone in the room probably did.

Other viewers imagined the dog worrying about being sent outside. The jokes work because neither of them looks particularly impressed with the discovery. Of course, an open fuse box is something an adult should handle, especially with a toddler and dog nearby. Thankfully, this little investigation appears to end with staring rather than touching.
