Mama Stray Dog Hides Her Babies at an Abandoned House, Then Leads Rescuers to Them for Help

They stopped to give her more kibble along the way, and she kept going. Eventually, she slipped through a rusty gate surrounded by overgrown plants and headed toward an abandoned house. That was when everything clicked.

Inside, four tiny babies were tucked into a makeshift shelter surrounded by scraps and broken furniture. Laima had been keeping them there, doing what she could to protect them. Once the rescuers reached the babies, the mama stray dog stayed close but allowed them to come near. She even accepted some gentle cheek rubs, which only reflected her trust in these people.

The rescuers gathered the whole family and brought them back to the shelter. Laima kept a close eye on her puppies as they settled into a warm whelping tub, and it didn’t take long for everyone to look a whole lot more comfortable.
