A dog distracted by pigeons turned an ordinary restaurant visit into a hilarious moment for Instagram viewers. Rogue, a German Shorthaired Pointer from California, stars in a reel shared by @rogue.gsp a week ago.
The video shows the pup sitting beside her human at an outdoor restaurant, but when pigeons gather on the roof, Rogue can’t stop staring at them despite receiving a calming pep talk.
Dog hilariously gets distracted by pigeons on a restaurant roof
The Instagram clip begins with the on-screen question, “Them: How is your dog at restaurants?” Rogue immediately answers without moving much from her seat. She looks toward the roof, tracks the sound above her, and ignores the table around her. Another caption jokes, “Me: With or without tap dancing PIGEONS on the roof?”
Rogue’s human sits beside her and tries to redirect her attention. The Instagram caption says, “Despite the pep talk, she did not leave the pigeon alone.” In the final moment, he seems to give up gently and says, “We are gonna leave it.” Rogue still looks completely locked on the birds, as if dinner can wait.
The dog being distracted by pigeons moment makes sense for her breed. According to the account bio, Rogue is a German Shorthaired Pointer, born on January 19, 2022. German Shorthaired Pointers are known as energetic bird dogs with sharp focus. So a restaurant roof full of noisy pigeons never feels boring to Rogue. Her huge eyes and tiny head movements make the scene even funnier.
Viewers quickly understood Rogue’s struggle. One person wrote, “She’s fighting all the ancestors.” Another commented, “The instant I saw the breed, I was like, Ohhhhh nooooo?” A third viewer added, “That dog is giving “confused Muppet” vibes. Especially with the little lift/scooch/turn. Lol, the stomp of the leg is hilarious.”
