Kids Rescue a Tick-Covered Stray Puppy, Then Shower Him With the Love He’d Never Known

A scared little pup in a parking lot had every reason to keep his distance, yet a few kind kids managed to convince him otherwise. In a video shared by @joycelong516, the stray puppy slowly approaches a kid kneeling on concrete. That small decision leads to a very busy day, with the kids helping rescue him, getting him cleaned up, and making sure he gets plenty of attention afterward. By the end of the clip, “Chase” has been christened. And we see him racing around the yard, riding on a swing, and falling asleep after all the excitement.

Kids rescue a tick-covered stray puppy and help him learn to trust again

At first, Chase is crouched low in the parking lot, looking understandably unsure about the group of children trying to make friends. One boy takes things slowly, and Chase eventually comes close enough to be touched. Soon, he is curled up in the boy’s lap during the ride home, wrapped snugly in a blanket. Then the real cleanup begins.

One girl carefully removes ticks from Chase’s ears with tweezers while another child holds him steady. Someone else keeps a cup nearby for the ticks, and the collection quickly shows just how much the puppy had been dealing with. The kids keep working until the little stray puppy is finally tick-free.

Then comes bath time, with four children helping wash Chase in a blue tub. There is plenty of soap, splashing, and teamwork, followed by a group effort to dry him off with little towels. And Chase seems to understand that the hard part is over. Once he is clean, he starts acting like an actual puppy. He wiggles around the grass, follows the kids across the yard, and even races after one boy running at full speed.

The sweetest part might be the swing. Chase sits in the boy’s lap as they swing together, looking completely content. Later, one of the girls cuddles him in a towel, and eventually Chase is stretched out on a bench, fast asleep after his very full day.

The song “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” plays throughout the video, which is so apt. With more than 280K likes in two days, the rescue clearly struck a chord. One viewer called it a collection of “core memories,” while another said Chase had “won the lottery.” So did the family.
