That’s the sweet idea behind an Instagram video featuring two Golden Retrievers who their mom believes were the first to know she was pregnant with her baby.

Rather than revealing a family member or close friend, the video points to the family’s two Golden Retrievers, Gamja and Chip.

A montage of throwback clips shows the pair constantly by their owner’s side. One moment captures both dogs peacefully sleeping next to her, while other scenes show them quietly following her from room to room and keeping her company during everyday household tasks. Looking back, their owner suggests the pair seemed to know something had changed long before anyone else did.

The touching tribute continues in the caption, where the owner refers to Gamja and Chip as “My forever firsts.” Meanwhile, the video resonated with viewers, many of whom said they weren’t surprised by the dogs’ apparent intuition.
