Golden Retriever Acts Like Baby’s Big Sister in the Sweetest Way Possible

Growing up with a dog means having a companion for every milestone. For one baby, that companion also acts like a devoted older sister. An Instagram video shows a Golden Retriever named Skylar spending nearly every moment with her baby sibling, and viewers can’t get enough of their bond.

Golden Retriever and baby sister spend almost all of their time together

The clip, posted by @skylars.the.limit, offers a glimpse into their everyday life together. Skylar is shown by the baby’s side throughout the video, making it clear that the pair spends much of their day together.

The on-screen text describes the relationship simply as “Just two sisters,” and the footage certainly lives up to that description. From keeping the baby company during daily activities to lying beside her while she sleeps, Skylar appears to have naturally stepped into the role of an older sibling. She calmly follows her little sister around the house, watches over her with quiet curiosity, and rarely seems to let her out of sight.

Rather than seeking attention for herself, the Golden Retriever often seems more interested in staying close to the newest member of the family. The creator added another heartfelt touch in the caption, writing, “Every girl needs a sister, am I right?”

Viewers quickly filled the comments section with reactions, many saying the relationship looked incredibly natural. One person wrote, “They are so lucky to have each other!” while another couldn’t help noticing a surprising resemblance between the two. “Omg do they have the same shade of hair?! Actual sisters!!” the commenter joked.

Others pointed out small interactions that made the video even more touching. “I love how Skylar sniffs her belly,” one viewer commented. Some people also shared their own experiences with the breed, saying Skylar’s behavior didn’t surprise them at all.

“Our Golden just loves our grandkids. Goldens just seem to especially love children,” one commenter wrote, suggesting the affectionate and gentle nature seen in the video is something many Golden Retriever owners recognize.
