Toddler’s Daily Rituals With Golden Retrievers Include Hugs, Kisses & Sweet Moments

Growing up with three large dogs means your childhood is full of love and wonder. And a sweet Instagram video shared by @hdbrosriley shows a toddler named Honey performing her favorite daily rituals with her incredibly patient Golden Retrievers. Whether she is trying to throw a tennis ball or leaning against their sides, these dogs never mind. They naturally look out for their tiny human sister with endless sweetness and care. This viral clip is a beautiful compilation of their best living room interactions.

Toddler’s rituals with Golden Retrievers, including hugs and kisses, turn into sweet moments

The video opens with Honey crawling across the floor toward one of the resting dogs in the living room. He barely lifts his head as she leans against him as if it’s the most natural thing in the world. Then the other two dogs lounge nearby, keeping a watch over the scene.

Next comes Bear’s turn. Honey scoots closer until they’re almost nose to nose, chatting away in cheerful toddler babble. Bear’s tail immediately starts wagging, and after waiting so politely, he gives her the gentlest little kiss right on the nose.

On another day, Riley gets his own special greeting, too. As soon as Honey crawls over, his tail starts sweeping the floor before she rests her head on his for a cuddle. Golden Retrievers are known for their calm, affectionate nature, and every dog in this family seems perfectly happy letting Honey set the pace.

The sweetest surprise comes near the end, when viewers see an older clip of Honey tossing a tennis ball for the family’s late dog, Millie. Dad cheers her on as Millie picks it up almost immediately, turning a tiny throw into a memory the family will always have. Since then, Millie has sadly passed away, and six-year-old Twyla has become part of the family.

The video has collected more than 127,000 likes. For this family, these little toddler-and-Golden Retriever rituals may be an everyday occurrence, but they’re exactly the kind of moments people never seem to get tired of reading about.
