Staring at the same four concrete walls for months can make even the sweetest pup stop running to the door. A sad video posted by @julie_taylor_ca1 on Instagram shows a two-year-old shelter dog named Snow White reaching what seems to be her breaking point. This gorgeous girl currently spends most of her day slumped on her elevated bed instead of begging for attention. Even though she is incredibly sweet and loving, visitors keep passing her by without a second glance. The dedicated rescue staff, however, refuses to give up, hoping a local family will finally come for her.
Shelter dog is beginning to lose hope of finding a family to adopt her
The clip opens with Snow White sitting listlessly on her cot. She has her face turned slightly to look at the volunteer filming and walking toward her enclosure. She tracks the human with incredibly sorrowful eyes, perking up just a tiny bit when the camera is placed at a lower angle.
Later in the video, the shelter dog sits with a hunched back, staring blankly at the floor without any excitement left. She does not even lift her head when the volunteer comes right back to the glass gate. This heartbreaking video clearly shows a shelter dog whose spirit is starting to fade.
The caption tells us that this beautiful girl originally arrived as a transfer from another facility, so her early history is a mystery. Rather than showing any frustration, she behaves perfectly, knows how to sit, and walks nicely on a leash. She absolutely loves leaning in close for long petting sessions and gently accepts training treats. She is the type who stays glued to your side until the scratches stop.
Right now, she is also fighting heartworm disease, but the non-profit organization says they will cover the entire treatment process for free, even after adoption.
Hundreds of people online are sharing her story to help change her fortunes. The comment section of the video is full of supportive people who desperately want to see her out of the kennel.
The clip closes with one final look from Snow White as she waits inside her room. Anyone interested in adoption can send a quick direct message to the rescue team to set up a meeting today.
