Shelter Dog Judged for ‘Being Broken’ Still Has a Lot of Love to Give

This Instagram video tells the story of a shelter dog who is up for adoption. Named Venus, this American Bully has been waiting for a forever home, but humans have apparently judged him for “being broken.” According to the caption, people don’t try to know her heart before noticing a lump on her eye. It seems to distract humans from taking the next step with her; hence, she has been spending her time in the shelter. After hearing Venus’ story, many viewers have boosted the post and have come forward to help the pooch in the comment section.

Shelter dog is judged by humans even before meeting her

In a heartbreaking dog video on Instagram, a shelter American Bully named Venus is judged by humans before knowing her heart. “Most people will walk right past me because they’ll think I’m broken,” a text displays at the beginning of the clip. It shows the pooch sitting in her crate, looking out with hopeful eyes.

According to the uploader, humans don’t “see past” the lump on Venus’ eye. She appears to have a mass on her left eye that still needs treatment. The shelter page asks online users to help Venus find a forever home, as she needs medical care. Aside from the lump, the caption mentions that the pooch is “otherwise healthy.”

Furthermore, the caption states that people have walked right past her after noticing the lump. None of them tried to “see her heart.” “And if you spent 5 minutes with her, you’d understand. She’s gentle, she’s shy at first, and she’s incredibly sweet,” it reads.

Meanwhile, the video shows the shelter dog being gentle and calm as she takes a walk outside the kennel. She has the “cutest waddle” and has “so much love to give.” As of this writing, the Instagram post has garnered over 1K likes.
