Shelter Dog Leans on the Only Shoulder She Has, Unaware Nobody’s Coming for Them

A shelter dog named Cookie has found comfort in another furry friend at the shelter named Miso, as both of them are unaware that no one is coming for them. The dogs have nobody but each other to lean on. On July 2, Cassondra, a volunteer at Maui Humane Society, took to Instagram to share a heartwarming video featuring the two fur babies through the account @cassondra.christman. The clip has started to gain a lot of attention since then. Thus, garnering more than 1K likes on Instagram as of now.

Shelter dogs find comfort in each other while waiting for someone to finally give them a home

An emotional video on Instagram showcased two shelter dogs named Cookie and Miso leaning on one another. It looks as if it’s the only comfort they have right now behind the kennel doors. The video has melted the hearts of many on social media. In the caption of the post, the volunteer wrote, “or many of the dogs at the Maui Humane Society…Their family never comes. They don’t know they’ve been abandoned. They just keep waiting.”

The caption continued, “The saddest part isn’t that they’re in the shelter. It’s that most of them have no idea nobody is coming for them.” The caption then read, “Luckily these two can take comfort in each other. They didn’t come in together but you’d never know it. Miso and Cookie are waiting at Maui Humane Society.”

The Instagram video began by giving a closer look at the two shelter dogs, Cookie and Miso, resting inside the kennel walls.
