Stray Dog Once Left in a Parking Lot Gets Rescued, Not Knowing His Life’s About To Change

Looking at Simba today, it’s difficult to believe where his journey began. Before finding a family, the blind stray dog had been abandoned in a parking lot and left to cope with serious bullet wounds while trying to survive alone. Simba’s recovery took time, patience, and countless veterinary visits. A video by @sagaslegacy celebrating his second “gotcha day” is now giving viewers a look back at just how far he has come.

Stray dog gets rescued by humans who believe a second chance will change his life

The video begins with heartbreaking scenes of Simba lying beside a pile of trash in a parking lot, where he had reportedly been abandoned. Alone and unable to care for himself, the dog appeared exhausted and vulnerable as he waited in the same area where rescuers eventually found him.

After bringing Simba to safety, they quickly realized the extent of his condition. According to the post, he was completely blind and had multiple bullet wounds across his body. His injuries were severe enough that surviving on the streets had become nearly impossible. Unable to find food or protect himself, he faced overwhelming odds every day.

Learning about his situation made one thing immediately clear to the rescuer. “As soon as I heard his story I KNEW he could never be let down by humans again,” the caption reads.

From there, Simba’s recovery became a long but rewarding process. He received extensive veterinary care, including blood transfusions and multiple surgeries. Alongside his medical treatment, he was also cleaned up, cared for, and gradually introduced to a home.

The transformation shown later in the video is remarkable. The frightened dog seen lying alone at the beginning is replaced by a bright, healthy-looking companion surrounded by his new family. While his blindness remains part of his daily life, it no longer defines his future.

The post was shared to celebrate Simba’s second “gotcha day,” which also marked his seventh birthday. His family celebrated the occasion with a fruit-themed party, a fitting tribute to one of Simba’s favorite “obsessions.”

Reflecting on the past two years together, the rescuer wrote that adoption is not always about people saving dogs. Sometimes, they said, “they save us right back,” adding that perhaps the humans are the “lucky ones” after all.
