Shelter dog still hopes someone will come and choose him after years in the kennel
Meet Draco, a “long-time resident” at the Miami-Dade Animal Services who has spent “630 days in a shelter” waiting for someone to call his own. A volunteer shared his story on social media in the hope that the “smart and gorgeous boy” could be adopted. As per the clip, the “7 years old American bulldog mix has been waking up in a shelter kennel” for “almost 2 years” now while “waiting for someone to choose him.”
The pooch arrived on October 11, 2024, and is still waiting to be adopted. Telling more about Draco, the volunteer shares that the pooch “looks forward to every day, the precious 15–20 minutes he gets outside of his kennel. For those few moments, he gets to run, play, feel the grass beneath his paws, and simply be a dog. And what a dog he is.”
That’s not all; the pup is “affectionate & loves to give kisses” and “already knows commands like sit and paw.” And like every dog, the pup is also “always ready for treats, praise, and a little love.” However, the volunteer suggested that Draco would be “best as only pet” in a “home that can provide structure and adventure.” Knowing how special the pooch is, the human urged pet lovers to help them “find the person who will finally show him that his wait was worth it. His forever home has to be out there somewhere.”
And it seems viewers joined in the mission, as many requested that dog lovers adopt Draco. “Such a sweet well behaved boy!! Someone go meet this handsome love bug,” said a person. Another follower mentioned, “Come on earth angel, go get your furbaby.” A third also added, “Praying for you Draco you deserve a wonderful life outside of your kennel walls sending lots of love and prayers your way.”
