However, for one senior dog and his owner, it has become a ritual filled with affection, as can be seen in this video. A clip shared on Instagram by @noah_and_lincoln shows Noah, a 14-year-old Pit Bull, faithfully following his mom as part of a routine they have repeated for years.

For Noah, following his owner is more than just a habit. According to his mom, it is something he has done for years. However, one particular part of that routine has become a cherished daily ritual.
The video of the daily ritual opens with the senior dog’s owner walking toward the bathroom while the Pit Bull follows closely behind. Text on the screen explains, “This is my 14 year old senior dog and mine’s ritual every time I go to the bathroom.” Despite his age, Noah carefully trails after her, seemingly determined not to let her out of his sight.
When she reaches the bathroom, Noah pauses at the doorway and waits. Once his owner signals for him to come inside, he slowly makes his way in and stands patiently beside her. The next part of the ritual is what viewers found especially touching.
Noah’s mom gently wipes his eyes with a paper towel, carefully cleaning away any discharge. She then strokes his face affectionately and plants a kiss on his head. The interaction lasts only a few moments, but it clearly means a great deal to his owner. In the caption accompanying the video, she wrote, “I wish this ritual lasted forever.”
After viewers began asking about the routine, she shared more details in the comments. She explained that she does not know exactly how it started, but it has been a regular part of their lives for years. Noah follows her everywhere. If he cannot see her in a room, he immediately starts looking for her.
She also revealed that the ritual does not end when his eyes are cleaned. According to her, Noah then happily wags his tail, sniffs around her closet, and waits by the bedroom door until she is finished.
