Rescue Dog Shows His off Bandana and Sun Hat in Search of a Home

Merlin had one big day out, and he seemed ready for every part of it. The adoptable pit bull appeared in a sweet Instagram video from @sleepingbeautywrigs. His foster mom, Ashley Pelkoski, shared his trip to a Petco Love adoption event. The rescue pup wore a blue bandana, a bright sun hat, and a very proud smile while meeting people.

Rescue dog gets successful applications for adoption after event

The videocshowed Merlin heading to Union Square Park for the event. Ashley said they arrived at the Every Last One Rescue tent, picked up his bandana, and got ready after the event started at 11 a.m. She also thanked @bettyandherboots for helping with transportation and said the rescue adopted seven dogs that day.

Merlin first walked through the busy outdoor setup in a yellow vest. The dog then got his blue bandana and sat with people at the event. Since the day was hot, Ashley gave him water and placed Wrigley’s orange sun hat on him. She said it fit perfectly, and people loved seeing him in it.

The video also showed Ashley taking breaks with the canine during the packed event. He drank water, walked around the block, and sat with Jess, his previous foster mom. Ashley said she was nervous he might feel overwhelmed, but he handled the crowd well. She later called him “the star of the show.”

Merlin did not get adopted that day, but the update stayed hopeful. Ashley said he had “a few strong applications.” The rescue video also highlighted how calm breaks, water, and gentle handling helped him through the busy day.

Fans loved Merlin’s big outing in the comments. One wrote, “I’m secretly already jealous of whoever adopts him.” Another added, “Thank you for giving him breaks during an event like this.” A third said, “he is so stinking cute omg. what a good beautiful boy.” Another viewer wrote, “I love that you and Merlin exist in this world.”
