For most of her life, Emmylou lived in fear and uncertainty. The shy Beagle mix survived animal testing and arrived in foster care carrying deep emotional trauma. Foster dog breaks out of her shell and learns to live life
The video starts with Emmylou sitting quietly in a crate, looking nervous and unsure. Text on the screen describes her as a “shut down foster” and an “animal testing survivor” who is slowly gaining confidence.
At first, Emmylou spends most of her time resting. She sleeps in her crate during car rides, on couches, under blankets, and next to the people caring for her. After spending years in stressful conditions, those peaceful naps seem to give her the comfort and security she may have rarely experienced before.
According to the creator, Emmylou initially trembled when taken outside. New sounds scared her, and she felt nervous around people. Even so, she learned to trust those who treated her with kindness.
