Mealtime can look very different from one dog to another. Some pets slowly snack throughout the day, while others treat every meal like a competition and finish within minutes. In homes with multiple dogs, those opposite eating habits can often lead to funny situations that owners know all too well.
That was the case in a recent Instagram video shared by @leorrysorghee.chows. The clip shows a hungry Chow Chow named Leorry finishing his dinner in record time before setting his sights on his sister Sorghee’s leftovers.
Dog finishes eating his own food in 2 minutes and then goes to eat furry sister’s leftovers
The clip begins with both dogs being served dinner at the same time. While Sorghee calmly eats at her own pace, Leorry wastes no time digging into his meal. According to the text shown in the video, he finishes everything in just two minutes.
Meanwhile, his sister is still slowly working through her food. The contrast between the two dogs quickly becomes the focus of the video, especially as Leorry begins eyeing her bowl the moment his own is empty.
A caption on the screen jokingly reads, “When my sister takes 10 hours to eat and I’m done in 2 mins…” After finishing, Leorry sits beside his empty bowl for a moment, almost as if he is double-checking for any missed pieces of food. Once he accepts that there is nothing left, his attention shifts fully toward Sorghee’s dinner.
The video then shows him inching closer while patiently waiting for an opportunity to grab whatever remains. Another line added to the clip reads, “Maybe if I move closer I can get her leftovers.” Eventually, Leorry decides to stop waiting and takes over the bowl himself, quickly finishing off the remaining food before his sister can return to it.
His owner later admitted in the caption that the behavior is common in their household. She explained that she sometimes intentionally gives Leorry slightly less food because she already knows “he would end up eating Sorghee’s leftovers” anyway.
The clip drew reactions from other Chow parents who said the situation felt very familiar. One viewer summed up Leorry’s strategy with the comment, “Sneak attack.” Another wrote, “How mine be,” suggesting their dog behaves in much the same way during meals. “My chow just left her food in the bowl and would go back throughout the day,” a third person shared.
