Cactus, the once-timid rescue dog who found his own happy ending with his dad, is now paying it forward to an abandoned puppy, Grady. The rescue dog’s dad launched a two-part video series in which the two meet the rescue — an 8-week-old puppy whose owners abandoned him on a sidewalk before the rescue @pawsitivebeings took him in — to help him find his forever home. In part one, the rescue dog’s dad proposes the idea of playing with the abandoned puppy, asking Cactus, “You wanna go meet a foster puppy and play?” As they head out the door, the on-screen text speaks for the dog — “Where we going dad?!” — and a short walk through the neighborhood leads them to Grady. Dad spots him, rejoicing, “I think I see the puppy, Cactus!”
What follows is Cactus and Grady slowly sniffing each other for a furry introduction, as Cactus’ on-screen thought text reads, “What is this thing, dad?” Soon, both are playing while dad scoops up the little one and gets a face full of licks, telling him, “Oh, you’re so cute! You’re gonna find a home!” before Cactus and Grady trot together as dad cheers, “Let’s go! Good boy!”
In part two, the dad is cradling Grady when he points to a giant tortoise. Cactus, seemingly scared, takes a step back, as the on-screen text speaks on his behalf with, “What the HECK is that?!” and “Get away from my dad.” The owner gently corrects him, saying, “Hey, be nice to the turtle,” and even greets the visitor with a gentle “Hello.”
For his part, Cactus’ inner monologue calls the tortoise “a strange smelling dog,” but he eventually gets so fixated that his pet parent has to scoop him up and relocate him, taking both dogs on a walk. Dad tells the rescue dog, “Cactus, you have to be a good role model for him,” as the pair sets off with the abandoned rescue puppy. And the visit ends with a goodbye nuzzle between the two dogs.
Grady is searching for his forever home, and if the videos are proof, his cuteness may just find him one soon.
