A video from @itsawonderfulgeorge has people cracking up after George the Golden Retriever accidentally hid himself so well that only his paws gave him away. And really, his commitment to staying buried under cozy blankets is hard not to respect. What we see in the reel looks less like a dog nap and more like somebody deciding they were absolutely done with the day. George’s owner thought the dog had wandered off after heading to bed early, but it turns out George was still right there the entire time.
Owner finds dog sleeping under layers of blankies with only paws out
The video opens in a perfectly normal-looking bedroom. The bed looks neat, the blankets are in place, and nothing seems unusual at first glance. Then the in-video text pops up: “POV: your dog went to bed an hour ago, but you can’t find him.”
That is when the owner walks closer to the bed and spots a little bit of fur poking out near the end of the blanket. A second later, George’s back legs come into view, stretched out dramatically. Only his paws and tail are sticking out while the rest of him stays buried under the blankets.
Honestly, the visual alone is enough to make anyone laugh. But then the owner starts peeling back the layers slowly, revealing more and more of George’s body. Somehow, he stays asleep through all of it. Even after one blanket gets folded back, his face is still hidden under another one.
Then his owner lifts the final blanket, and there’s George, absolutely knocked out and somehow comfortable in a position that makes no sense. The video has already racked up over 26.7k likes. One viewer joked, “Turn the lights back off. I’m sleeping here.”
Another wrote, “Put himself in DND mode.” Fair enough, because George really did look unavailable for the rest of the day. George never even looked bothered once during the whole reveal. While his owner was stressing out, this dog simply chose the blankies to hide and sleep under.
