Finding a best friend who never wants to leave your side is the ultimate life goal. Waffle, the “red and spicy” Golden Retriever from Miami, is currently proving that point on social media. Over at @awaffleslife, he shows exactly why he is a daily dose of good vibes for his followers. His mom, Natalia, recently shared a clip of their living room bonding time that is almost too sweet to handle. As it happens, some hugs are just impossible to walk away from once you start. This pup has a very cute way of making sure his cuddle quota is met every single day.
Golden Retriever can’t get enough of mom’s sweet hugs, demands more
The video starts on the living room floor, where the duo is already in the middle of a hug session. Natalia leans in to give him a squeeze, but the second she pulls back, the protest begins. Waffle shifts his weight and stares at her until she realizes he wants more. So, she goes back for more.
It is clear that this Golden Retriever considers these hugs part of his mandatory daily requirements. Natalia lets go a second time, but Waffle isn’t ready to call it quits just yet. He lifts a single paw to her chest and leans in to lick her chin with zero hesitation. She has to lean back to wipe her face, but he just sees that as another opening for affection.
Right then, he plants a big kiss on her cheek and throws both paws over her shoulders. This breed is famously affectionate, so Waffle’s clingy behavior makes total sense to fellow pet parents. He even looks squarely into the camera with a close-up that shows he is feeling incredibly loved.
The clip has already picked up over 300 likes in just a few hours. Natalia noted in her caption that being loved by a dog is the best feeling. She even laughed about how Waffle’s reddish coat makes her look extra pale in comparison.
