A hilarious Instagram video from @oliversue_sydney shows that Sydney, an Australian Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog, has a lot to say, and she says it with her wiggle. Sydney evidently takes the concept of a “velcro dog” to a whole new level. And her owner’s privacy? It is certainly a thing of the past, because the drama begins in the bathroom, where her dad understandably just wants a few moments to himself.
Dog uses ‘wiggles’ to communicate with owner
Sydney is huffing and pacing when her owner asks, “Can I help you?” The dog then turns her back to him and, much to his confusion, starts to wiggle her entire rear end. But all her owner wants to know is if they can “go to the bathroom in peace.” The dog walks away and shakes her body while groaning like she is disappointed — and as he asks, “Is that a no?” Sydney whines again before finally exiting the bathroom.
The performance does not stop there. Calling out “Sydney girl” in the video, the owner gets out of the bathroom to check on the dog, but it just triggers another round of Sydney’s wiggle. She backs her rear end right up to his feet, shaking with such excitement that her owner notes, “That’s a lot of movement going on.” Sydney then continues her dance in the rest of the video.
It helps to know that since Australian Stumpy Tail Cattle Dogs lack the long tail most breeds use to show emotion, they have to use their entire hips to communicate, which is just an “all or nothing” approach to wagging. It usually means they are demanding a booty scratch or just making sure they remain the center of their human’s universe.
Whatever the reason, it appears as though this dog cannot stop wiggling when her owner is around in the video.
