Living with a 76-pound pup means sometimes you no longer have a solo claim to your couch. Over at @odinbluee, Odin the rescue dog is currently showing exactly how a giant baby handles a mood swing. He is a one-year-old mix of German Shepherd, Husky, and Pit Bull. Someone left him at a fire station before he was rescued and found his forever home. Now, he spends his days letting his dad know when he needs some serious cuddles.
Rescue dog rests on top of dad for cuddles and pets
The video opens on a very cozy scene, Odin sprawled across his human on a very comfy couch. His dad lies there surrounded by cushions and a soft blanket. The text on the screen says this is what happens when a big pup has big feelings.
Even though he’s clearly a big dog, there’s something about the way he settles in that makes him look like the smallest, neediest baby in that moment. His dad plants a few kisses on his snout and gives him long strokes down his back. This emotional rescue dog seems to soak up every bit of the attention. He is a mix of several active breeds, but right now, he is very still.
Odin eventually lifts his head to look directly at his dad. A viewer observed the “look of love” in his eyes when he does that. His dad, for his part, whispers some sweet nothings to Odin while the dog processes the words. You can see his ears moving around as he listens intently. Another viewer noted that “the ears tell the story” here.
Then he leans back into a cushion for a second before deciding his dad’s shoulder is a better spot to rest his chin. His dad starts patting his head again while he snuggles in deep.
His owner calls the pup “76lbs of drama” in the caption. And it’s true, no matter how big or strong a dog gets, they always stay their parents’ baby who needs cuddles. Snuggling on the couch is evidently the best way to ease Odin’s worries.
