Owner Captures Dog’s Undeniable Love for Sleeping

In a video from Instagram user @thebabypancake, an English bulldog named Pancake proves, clip after clip, that her true calling is nothing but sleeping. It involves naps, more naps, and then a nap to recover from the earlier naps. The joke starts with the on-screen caption, “Dogs are wired to sleep lightly so they can protect their humans,” and then the video cuts to the cute canine doing the exact opposite in a series of clips.

Owner reveals dog to be an adorable deep sleeper

The caption of the video by @thebabypancake further jokes about the dog’s sleeping habits with, “Pancake missed the evolutionary memo.” And that seems to be true, because in one moment, Pancake presses her chin against a couch cushion with her eyes half-open like she might be listening — until you realize she has no plans to move.

In another, the adorable English bulldog sleeps on her dad’s chest with no care in the world. Moreover, the video shows the dog sleeping on a bed, belly-up, paws curled, and looking — once again — like nothing in the world could phase her.

Even when Pancake ends up under furniture, she still commits to the nap with her tongue out. Clearly, there is nothing more important to her than her nap — and the comment section keeps the joke going.

One viewer wrote, “Pancake ain’t protecting anyone.” Another joked, “Pancake to her parents: good luck,” while a third viewer commented, “The hoomans are there to protect the treasure which is Pancake!”

Dogs do sleep lighter than humans at times, but pets also adjust to the home they live in. When they feel safe, they crash. And Bulldogs, in particular, have a reputation for saving their energy and choosing comfort whenever possible — Pancake just does it with a whole lot of confidence.

The bottom line is, that if an intruder shows up, this dog may not immediately jump into action, but no one can defeat her when it comes to sleeping.
