Owner Shows How Beagle Has Been Howling Since Day One

Some habits just show up early and never leave, and this throwback clip from @bubba.and.gumbo proves it in the cutest way. It simply shows a young Beagle howling on his first day at his forever home, and it’s making people smile. With toys scattered across the living room and a tiny puppy still figuring things out, the moment feels simple at first. But when the sound starts, it kind of steals the whole scene.

With nearly 5k likes already, viewers are loving how this little Beagle personality has been consistent from day one, even before he fully knew what he was doing.

Beagle has been howling with furry sibling since puppy days

The scene starts in their living room, where a tiny version of Gumbo sits by the couch. His older brother, Bubba, is there, too, doing an enthusiastic play bow. Then, Bubba lets out a sharp bark to get things moving. Gumbo, however, doesn’t even try to bark back. Instead, he lets out a tiny half-howl that sounds almost like a groan.

Even as a puppy, the Beagle was leaning more towards howling as a means of communication than barking. Bubba keeps barking to get a reaction, but Gumbo just responds with an even longer howl. He looks so serious about it, too.

Bubba actually looks a bit confused by the whole situation. He turns his head toward the camera, as if asking for a translation. This clip is actually part of a series on their feed about Gumbo’s vocal range. Their parents have posted several parts showing all the ordinary and extraordinary things that make him howl. He treats it like a full-time hobby.

Over 4,900 people have already liked the clip of the chatty duo. One viewer mentioned that Gumbo sounds exactly like a groan tube toy. Others are obsessed with how patient Bubba was with his little brother back then. It turns out that this Beagle hasn’t stopped howling even now that he is older. In fact, the two brothers have developed a way to talk back and forth that actually works. Whatever floats their boats, we guess.
