Dogs Do Not Pay Much Attention to Dad Pretending To Fall

Priorities are everything when you live in Upstate New York with a house full of hungry pets. Even when Dad fakes a dramatic fall, these dogs just keep moving past him to get to the kitchen. The crew at @fredandlouthebernerbros usually follows their humans everywhere, but today is different. There is a delicious scent coming from the kitchen — Grandma is cooking bacon, and nothing else matters. Some pups might have stopped to check on their owner, but not these guys. They are on a mission to get breakfast.

Dogs walk past Dad pretending to have fallen down stairs as they smell grandma’s cooking

In this hilarious Instagram video by @fredandlouthebernerbros, the scene at the base of the stairs looks pretty intense. Dad is lying across the floor, his legs still dangling on the steps. It looks like a serious fall, but these dogs just walk past him like he is invisible. The text on the screen states, “POV: Dad fell down the stairs, but you smell grandma cooking bacon.”

Louie comes down the stairs first. He is a Bernese Mountain Dog, and this breed is usually very attached to their family. But Louie just steps over his owner and heads straight for the smell of grease coming from the kitchen.

The Golden Retriever is next in line. He doesn’t even pause to look at Dad. He just makes a beeline for the stove. Then Fred, the second Bernese Mountain Dog, makes his appearance. He walks past the human pile on the floor without a single sniff. The pooch knows exactly where the good stuff is. As someone else joked in the comments, the timing of Dad’s fall was “just unfortunate.”

A small dog finishes the parade, as even he ignores the person who might need help. He just joins the rest of the pack in the kitchen. People in the comments are laughing at the lack of empathy. One commenter said, “First things first, you have to prioritize your protein intake.”

Moreover, a viewer noted that “if he is faking it, he will be fine. If he is dead, there is nothing they can do… so bacon makes everything better,” and the dogs completely agree. Yet another person just asked him not to block the stairs so much next time. Unsurprisingly, the video has garnered over 6.3K likes as of writing.
