Dog Gives Dad a Hard Time When It’s Bath Time & Then Slips Away

Vincent Ponte usually spends his days snowboarding or hiking with his best friend, Kilo. But today, the vibe at @vpdagod is a bit more stressful. Kilo is a gorgeous Labrador who has been with his dad for four years now. He is mostly a very good dog; however, he has one major enemy, bathtime. This new video shows exactly how he feels about getting clean. And it is definitely not enthusiastic. Most people think this breed loves water, but Kilo is currently staging a full-scale protest in the living room by not moving an inch.

Video shows dog protesting the moment dad says it’s bath time

The clip starts with Vincent walking into the room, filming the whole thing. We see Kilo curled up on his bed in the corner, where he looks totally relaxed. But then the dreaded words come out of dad’s mouth. “Kilo, let’s go, it’s bath time,” his owner says, and the dog immediately stretches out and sinks deeper into the bed.

Perhaps he is hoping that if he stays still, the problem will go away. He gives his dad a classic “bombastic side-eye” while smacking his lips. It is pure denial, and it is absolutely hilarious.

Vincent tries to nudge him. He even puts a foot on the bed to get himself moving. “Up, in the bath, come on,” he says.

But Kilo decides to become an actual dead weight. He refuses to help or move. His dad literally has to use all his strength to lift him up. “Oh, you dead,” Vincent laughs because the dog is just limp. One viewer joked that Kilo was acting too tired to walk. It is a very relatable struggle for any pet owner, and this video has over a hundred likes to prove it.

Then the funniest thing happens. Kilo finally stands up, looking defeated. He starts walking toward the bathroom. And his dad is encouraged by this behavior, “Yes, let’s go, good boy,” he says. But then Kilo pulls a fast one. He overshoots the bathroom door entirely. He just keeps walking down the hall to escape. “Aye, aye, that’s not the bath,” Vincent yells. But Kilo just slinks away to the end of the corridor. He may be a “dirty boy,” but people in the comments still love him.
