A mom tried to capture a sweet video of her little girl and their Golden Retriever puppy, but the puppy had other plans. Instagram user @daniellelfrye shared a video showing Millie, the Golden Retriever puppy, sitting close to a baby named Chloe, both perched on a couch. But the little girl has something Millie wants. Chloe wears a floral headband. Millie, for her part, has her eyes on the bow as if it belongs in her toy pile.
Video shows puppy trying to steal little girl’s bow and smiling after failed attempt
As the mom holds the little girl steady in the video, the puppy suddenly grabs the bow with her mouth. The bow does not fully come off because it is attached to the headband, but that does not stop Millie from trying to steal it away. This makes the mom laugh, but she immediately fixes the bow. However, Millie goes right back for round two.
This time, the mom commands, “Leave it,” prompting the Golden pup to pause and leave the bow as it is. Right after, the mom cheers, and Chloe starts clapping, while Millie sits beside her, looking somewhat pleased with herself, even though she did not get the bow.
Young dogs explore with their mouths, especially when something looks fun or smells familiar. With mom’s laughter and attention, the bow becomes even more interesting — but the “Leave it” cue gives Millie a simple boundary, and the “Yayyyy” and clapping act as rewards.
The caption under the video notes the adorable moment, “Just trying to take a cute picture! Happy 4 months, Millie, aka Bow stealer! Also, the way she smiles, or smirks, when I say ‘Yayyyy’ and Chloe claps ?.”
Viewers loved the whole scene. One wrote, “Millie doesn’t think the bow matches the fit ?,” while another added, “Please get him one too ?,” and a third said, “My shoelaces are never tied anymore! ?”; arguably because of their dog. And who would not want those chaotic joys in life?
