Golden Retriever Picks a Group of Strangers to Sit With During His Walk

When it comes to mingling with strangers, not every pooch is great at striking a friendship at first sight. However, the same can’t be said for this Golden Retriever, as this video shows the furball befriending unknown people in a fraction of a second. No wonder, given his extroverted nature, the Instagram reel has not only garnered more than 36,000 likes at the time of writing but has also received adorable messages from dog lovers.

Not every dog likes to interact with strangers at the very first meeting. While some get anxious around new faces, others take their own sweet time to gel with the unknown people. They would usually sniff around, watch them from afar, and play with them a little before becoming friends. But this video on @joey_how_u_doinnn shows a different side of a Golden Retriever named Joey.

The reel shows the “most extroverted dog on the internet” instantly becoming friends with a group of strangers sitting on the beach deck. In fact, after spotting the strangers, Joey silently goes to them, wagging his tail while looking back at the owner. He then sits with the new group with his back towards them, hinting that he is here to be friends with them. Moreover, the pup even lets the strangers pet him without any issues.

Looking at his act, the parent confessed in the caption, “My dog decided they are his new friends. And they don’t seem to have a choice.” The owner even mentions that Joey became friends with the group by simply saying, “Hi, I’m with you now.’”

As expected, the pup’s confident stance melted many hearts online. Many dog lovers beelined for the post’s comments section to leave heartfelt messages for Joey, with one saying, “He is so adorable.” Another person also remarked, “He’s so lovable. What a ham.”

While many were impressed with his confidence, a person commented, “It’s the delicious confidence that they are loved and wanted by everyone. What a wonderful way to live your life.” Another pet lover also echoed the same thoughts, “I wish I had social skills like your dog – that slow confident swagger to show he’s not overeager either.”
