Zuko found a branch in this clip that is basically three times wider than the actual gap he’s trying to walk through. According to his Instagram bio, he is a “Stick of the Day Enthusiast,” and he is not one to leave this prize behind. This video from @officialzuko_ shows the dog’s stick plans hitting a metal fence. Literally.
Zuko is a dog with a lot of heart. He is a Labrador Retriever who is going to try to force his way through. He has a very good-looking but a long stick in his mouth. And the wired fence is a problem. He keeps launching his body forward, and he keeps getting stopped. It is a very frustrating yet very funny struggle.
Dog successfully gets through a narrow opening by going sideways
Zuko hits the fence and stops. His mom is filming and trying to help. “Alright, so we found one, but we gotta get it in there,” she says. She tells him to try going sideways. Zuko just looks up at her, all confused. He tilts his head, and the stick moves a little. But then he tries to go straight again. He is trying so hard, but he doesn’t get it yet.
Mom says she taught him this last time. Zuko reverses. He tries a different direction. But he still gets blocked at the gap. “Let’s be honest here, this ‘gate’ isn’t living up to its full potential,” a fan joked. Yeah, it might just have been easier if the gap had been more obliging.
Mom even demonstrates the move. She walks through sideways to show him how to do it. You can just tell that this dog is not going to quit. He takes a few more steps back to think. And then it happens.
He turns his head. He slides the wood through the gap and trots into the park. Mom is the best hype woman ever. She is screaming because he finally did it. Over 3.2k people loved this video of a dog and his stick. One viewer said he mastered trigonometry. Someone else said he should get a degree in physics, now that he has solved this complex problem. We agree.
