Video: Owner Reveals Cutest Way To Carry Labrador Puppy

An adorable Instagram video from user @raisingridgethechocolatelab shows a Chocolate Labrador puppy named Ridge, whose owner carries him around in a pouch, and the pup seems really comfortable with it. In the video, the tiny pup rides around in a pouch that sits across his owner’s chest with a sling. Ridge looks like he has one job, which is to nap, and he takes it very seriously.

Owner shows how to carry Labrador puppy in most adorable way

The video’s on-screen caption calls carrying the Chocolate Labrador puppy in the pouch “The EASIEST way to carry a sleepy puppy,” while the caption under the video calls it “The only way.”

In the video, Ridge is in a few spots while he stays tucked into the pouch; whether at home, where someone gently pets his head, or out and about, where he peeks over the top like a very drowsy passenger, he is at peace. In one close-up, his face fills the screen as he stares ahead with that sweet puppy look.

It is adorable, but it helps to know that young puppies often settle down when they feel steady pressure and body warmth, especially when they can hear a person nearby. That close contact can help them relax, just as they do when they curl up with their littermates. There is no complication in the feeling, and it is just a simple “I’m safe, I can sleep” feeling.

Viewers took to the comment section to shower the pup with affection. One person noted, “he looks so serene,” and another added, “ugh I love him.” The pouch also sparked a little envy from owners of older and heavier dogs, as one wrote, “Mines too big to carry in my bag.” And one viewer even seemed ready to make a major life choice after watching Ridge doze off in transit, writing, “Okay fine I’ll get another dog.”

The Chocolate Labrador in the video is small enough for his owner to carry him in the pouch — and judging by his sleepy little face, he plans to enjoy it for as long as it lasts.
